I certainly appreciate your concerns around email security and Spam. We have actually acknowledged the need to make some changes and this is exactly what we are doing.
You might be interested to know that we have begun migrating our customers to a new platform known as "Telstra Mail". You'll find a lot of FAQ's there and more information about configurations and offerings is available here.
You don't need to do anything to be migrated to this new service as we are moving all of our Bigpond Email customers to this service.
