I rang Bigpond tonight with the same problem. They told me that Bigpond email accounts cannot be synced with Windows 10 mail app as yet, as 'the migration of emails from Bigpond to Windows 10 mail app' is yet to commence. They said that once the migration begins, bigpond email users will receive an email advising that they can now sync Bigpond email accounts in Windows 10 mail app. Until then, I was told to continue using my Windows Live Mail 2011 app and not to bother trying to make any changes to Bigpond email account as it wont work. They couldn't give me a timeline on when the migration would start. So it sounds like a systemic thing from Bigpond.
