Problem started automatically this week without me changing anything.
Using MS Outlook on my desktop I can send emails no problems.
But for Receiving, I get a message that it's downloading then a couple of seconds later, it says Completed.
But there is nothing in my in-box despite me knowing there was mail on-line after logging into my telstra.com a/c.
The mail was actually clearing from there after supposedly downloading to my PC.
(I've got around that by telling Outlook to keep mail on the Bigpond server.)
GMAIL runs perfectly at the same timethrough Outlook btw.
Settings are:
Manually configure server is ticked.
POP3 with mail@bigpond.com for incoming/outgoing and Save Password ticked.
More settings selected.
Outgoing Server authentication ticked. Use same settings as Incoming ticked. SPA is NOT ticked.
Connection: Use my LAN ticked.
Advanced:
Incoming Server (POP3) port 995.
Outgoing Server (SMPT) Port 587
SSL required is ticked.
Encryption required SSL
Server Timeout 2 minutes 40
Leave copies on Server ticked.
(Some of these settings may have changed trough me trying to fix it).
Test message will send but won't come back. But it's in my telstra.com inbox.
I've had trouble with Bigpond before and they've had me un-ticking SSL, changing ports etc.
Even told me it was changing from POP3 to IMAP ??? But I've been told nothing and don't have that option anyway.
So what the heck has happened and how do I fix it?
Tried Live Support 3 times & ended up leaving phone number but no response from Telstra.
