Connection refused due to exceed max concurrent connections. IB007

Hello Team,

I work at a Unified Email Management provider.

Some of our customers are having problems trying to send emails to bigpond.net.au addresses.

The errors we see are given below.

Connection refused due to exceed max concurrent connections. IB007

sender rejected. IB504

Is it possible that you could increase our connection limit since we send emails on behalf of tens of thousands of businesses.

Below are our IP ranges that we send emails from. Could you please get in touch to discuss this with more details privately.

103.13.69.0/24

124.47.150.0/24

124.47.189.0/24

180.189.28.0/24

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Malinda.

What troubleshooting have you tried?

Are you using this link: https://email.telstra.com.au to log into webmail?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache and/or using a different browser?

Does this only happen when you access your mailbox on one device, or does it work okay on another computer/tablet/smart phone?

Hi Otto11,

Emails from IGA, Cotton On and Big W are usually as a result of signing up for their loyalty cards or some other promotion and as such are legitimate mail. If you do not want to receive them, the best option is to adjust your mailing options within each service. There is usually an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Some spam does pretend to be legitimate mail and uses the name of familiar companies. These will typically have an email domain that is not similar. In those cases, I would recommend setting up the domain name in the block senders list via https://email.telstra.com

You can also set up rules to move emails with key words or from specific senders to the deleted or junk folder.

Hi Shelley,

Thanks for your response.

No this is not stuff I have signed up for... It is spam, posing to be from these companies, it comes from various domain names.  So I can block them, but then the next day they are from a different address.

They are all the same... offering a chance to win money/gift vouchers etc... these are certainly not from the real companies.

And anyhow I use a different email address for any companies that I have subscribed too... and guess what, that email does not receive any spam at all!

It is just my personal email address that I have had for 10 years, and have never had a problem with until 3 weeks ago.

I wish Telstra had a solution at their end, other than get a new email address!

I will just keep waiting for an answer I guess.

Random emails are not being received or sent since IMAP Conversion

Hi,

Since my IMAP Conversion on 10 January 2017 (after rectifying an issue with receiving duplicate emails.)

I now am having the problem of either not receiving random emails and or random Sent emails are not being received.

Its not emails from or to one particular email address its affecting random clients of mine. It doesnt seem to be a certain email provider either.

I called Telstra this morning and they told me I would have to monitor it and take note of whose addresses emails are not being sent or received to and from.

The telstra employee I spoke with this morning, went throught all my settings and they are correct.

These emails are not coming up in telstra webmail either. That was checked this morning too.

Im not sure where to go from here, I am getting phone calls from clients (upset ones) and have no confidence in receiving or sending emails at present with my bigpond.com address.

HELP!!!!!

With the block list, you can set them using domains rather than the full address. You can also set rules to manage your mailbox and move emails with key words to the Junk folder.

Emails address to domain name being rejected/not being received

As of 24 January 2017, any email addressed to my domain name is not being received through my ???@bigpond.net.au email account.

Has Telstra changed something to cause this problem. Prior to this date I was receiving up to 100 emails a day, now I am onl receiving 1 or 2.

Can Telstra acknowledge that there is a problem and how long will it take to fix this?

IB508 error - Telstra rejects your emails, and does not even tell you. Started 1 week ago.

Welcome to the club ... I see a class action happening here.

The recipients are our customers and I would imagine that they are personal bigpond accounts (as opposed to being used for business purposes) and I wouldn't imagine that they would all be using automatic forwarding. The 9 examples I have been provided with are a mix of bigpond.com and bigpond.net.au addresses.

Hi,

I too have started recieving this bound back when attmpting to send email to a bgipond.net.au address.

This is sending from my corporate email address to a bigpond.net.au email address, we use a hosted security provider for sending all of our outgoing emails to ensure that we are not sending spam or viruses etc. This means that our emails, as well as emails from other customers of the same hosted email security provider are being blocked becuase the maximum messages per IP are being exceeded.

Can you please advise how I can get this escalated? It is becoming a problem becuase we cannot bypass our hosted email security provider just for BigPond and it means we cannot communicate with some of our customers via email. This has only recently become an issue and is rather short sighted of BigPond.

Regards,

Chris

Can you send me a private message with the mail header info. If you can include examples for .com and .net.au, that would be helpful.

Hi,  I have started receiving this message too when trying to send from my work email addres (bigpond.com) to my home email address (bigpond.net.au).  Last week it was the error message IB508 which meant calls to my IT department and the Telstra and now there is this error message.  I was not trying to send to more than one email address and it was the first email I had tried to send so it wasn't a case of too many emails.  What do I need to do to fix this?

Thank you

I am also getting refused connections to bigpond.com for the past few days with the following responses.

Connection refused due to exceed max concurrent connections IB007

and

>sender rejected IB504 which also relates to concurrect connections.

It is happenning from a number of our domains and we would only be sending a maximum of  5 emails an hour. We are also not on any Blacklist.

I believe your Concurrent connections is set too low or is not working correctly.

Who do I talk to to get this resolved.

Hi Shelly

The SMTP server smtp.telstra.com and outgoing port 465 in your previous email  is what I changed it from so as I don't receive the unathenticated response from gmail.

Are you saying I should just leave the SMTP server as mail.bigpond.com using outgoing port 587 as a permanent fix?

Re: Significant increase in spam email recently

I have also noticed a large increase in spam on my main Email account, fair enough on one of my secomdary accounts which i am able to change easily. This increase in spam seems to coincide with the migration to Telstras 'NEW' servers. New servers, seems like old servers as this seems to be going backwards not forwards. I have been adding these spam email addresses to the spam folders on the webmail but they just seem to keep on coming.

Like others have reported I am constantly recieving the same stupid emails about stuff that i dontwant to read or even need to to read.

Not only that, I lost my internet connection over the Christmas break and it took telstra and theirs techs (yes I said techs, more than one) to recify the proble which took almost 2 weeks, they kept telling me it wa my modem, even though the first tech that visited had already tried a new modem with no luck, ended up being an issue at the exchange, which is what i was trying to tell them in the firstplace.

I want and would like to know what Telstra is doing to stop this Spam from getting through their so called spam filters?

Unblock legitimate sender - deferred because of volume by anti-spam ?

How do I go about getting company I work for's sending domain exempted from the anti-spam system that has decided I am sending too much email to bigpond customers ?

My sending domain has SPF records, we are DKIM siging the email and we have a DMARC policy published.

We send email on behalf of our customers to bigpond users and today we had a large number of emails go out to bigpond.com .

I currently have 1849 messages deferred by extmail.bigpond.com. [203.36.137.234] with the following in my dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: 452 test+1234@mydomain.com.au sender rejected. IB504

I cannot find anywhere where I can talk to anyone in telstra and have the problem escalated as I am not one of the recipients i.e.  I am not the customer with the problem ...

Does anyone know how to contact Telstra for technical support with problems when you are not a customer ?

Anyone ?

I have spoken with two support folks but they cannot escalate the problem unless the bigpond customer who is not receiving the emails to complain, rather than me...
