Hi MICHELLE23,
That is a strange issue.
Do you get the same issue if logging into your Webmail on different browsers?

Who in their right mind would use BigPond for email?
Are you all that brain dead!?
Hi Chelle
I believe we have a solution which should assist.
Several weeks ago 50% of traffic was migrated from our old server to a newone, and on Friday 03/03 the remaining 50% of traffic was migrated across also.
As a result Customers that have the incorrect mail settings or have SMTP authentication enabled will be impacted and unable to send an email. You will be able to login and script a new email, however whenyou attempt to send the email you will be prompted to enter your password. Although you enter the correct password the request will fail and you will not be able to send the email.
You need to configure your email client correctly as per the recommendations on the Telstra website (Instructions below). Specifically, your username for SMTP authentication should contain the domain eg.
Kind Regards

Thanks Lindy. Ironically when I turned on the computer this morning (Sunday morning), the email I had been trying to send since lunchtime on Friday finally sent! I haven't had to change any of the account settings. However, I will keep your advice handy in the event that this was a temporary fix and the problem starts again.
I have just changed my account to the new Telstra Mail however the emails are not sorting properly by the 'date' column using Telstra Mail via browser (have tried through Chrome, IE and firefox).
I have clicked the 'date' column in order to sort by date but it seems they are sorting on the order that I imported them into Telstra Mail, rather than the actual date the email was received.
I had followed the instructions provided by Telstra on how to move emails saved locally on Outlook (using POP) by dragging them into the new email account folder in Oultook, so I thought it wouldn't have caused a problem.
Can you please provide some advice? It is very difficult to find emails now when accessing Telstra Mail through web browser.

I want to create a new bigpond email address that is a stand alone mailbox.
Currently I have the <Removed for privacy> account which I am keeping for now but as my wife passed away last year I want to now have one as <Removed for privacy>.
How can I do this completely separate to my existing account? And how do I go about it?
OR can the existing account be changed to appear as the new name?
Thanks
Bruce
^ Alternatively you can go to http://email.telstra.com
Hi Bruce
I am sorry to hear of your loss.
If you are wanting to create a new email address on the account it will be linked to it, you can create a secondary email address and set this one up to receive email.
The primary username is unable to be changed and is needed to log into My Account.
The other option is to create a email address via the Internet and collect your mail from there.
Hi cf4,
I tried the full email address and it didn't work either.
I have not long got home from work, I went into my email and it was still playing up (I was yet to get onto chat).
I closed the email down again and reopened and it is working fine now, all the emails i was waiting for it to send have now gone and there is no more pop-up.
I went in and had a look at the settings and they had gone back to the original settings.
I have no idea what happened or how long it will last but i will go with it at this stage and keep my fingers crossed.
Thank you so much for your help.
Cheers
Lynda
When you delete a message on the iPhone if the account is set up as an Imap account you have to allow time for it to sync with the server. You can force the account to sync by taping on the mailbox screen and dragging down.
Other things to check is that
Settings > Mai, Contacts, Calendars > Email Account Name > Advanced > Move discarded Messages is ticked and
Settings > Mai, Contacts, Calendars > Email Account Name > Advanced >Deleted Mailbox only rubbish is ticked
If it is set up as a POP account as well as make sure account has time to synchronise ensure that "Delete from mail server" is set to "When removed from inbox"
Settings > Mai, Contacts, Calendars > Email Account Name > Advanced > Delete From Server.
Viewing emails via webmail.
On a Mac using Avest Mac Security.
No to other programs running in background.
Scaned for malware etc.
Processing power must be OK as SOMETIMES Telstra mail runs quickly.
Thank you Shelly.
Can't acees inbox. can search it though
If you are using a VPN turn it off before sending emails.
Hi Lindy...That did the trick. Thank you
Great to hear Cboula, Appreciate you letting us know
