my bigpond webmail seems to auto close down and return to telstra advertisng / " news " screen after about 20 minutes whether I am using the webmail at the time or not.
I have windows 10 set to 4 hours before screen shuts down.
How do I disable this annoying bigpond webmail " feature ' ?
I can assure you I would not be here if the fix worked. Just another stuff up by Telstra, who do not give a S..t about their customers. Bigpond at lease worked. Telstra have been plagued by problems since fixinf something that was not broken.
I have not received any emails on Bigpond Webmail since the newTelsta Mail notification email. Why? What can I do?

I spoke to someone on 133 933 yesterday and was directed to spamhaus.org. Removed myself from their blacklist (how did I get there in the first place?) and found that I could send messages again after being completely blocked by Err 588.
Now you tell me that the server was restarted and the first email I try to send today is guess what? Rejected due to Err 588! And I am still removed from spamhaus.
I suspect hacks have gotten into the mail server and are causing havoc to webmail customers. Or the Telstra tech team are incompetent.
Which one is it? And how do you propose to fix it and when?

On this exact issue, I was told yesterday by tech support 'the fixes I advised will resolve the problem".
Today, same issue, it's "I have raised this issue with the network team".
The incompetence is staggering.
Just use another mail provider, then you avoid the problem altogether.
P.S. the arrows only appear on my desktop computer when I mouse to the edges of the view pane.
"Experts" have no clue how to do this, checked plenty of posts on it, read user guide, NOTHING. Then, by accident, I found side scroll arrows in the view pane that only apperar when I moused to the very edge of the pane. Only took four months to find out the answer to a simple question.
Hi on point 2 there are side scroll arrows that appear on the sides of the view pane for next/previous email, at least on chrome browser for me, hopefully for safari too.

What a specious response. If you offer a service "free" or not, you have a responsibility to deliver. Do you really mean that Telstra bears no responsibility for maintaining its Mail services?
Interesting RV1 ... would be nice if tech support posted such an update here, so we all knew what was going on ... instead of just claiming it is a user issue.
You can already use Gmail for your telstra mailbox. And reply from there using your telstra/bigpond address.
I TOO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE DONE AS YOU SUGGESTED WITH NO DIFFERENCE.
UNABLE TO OPEN ATTACHMENTS NEW OR OLD. ALSO UNABLE TO FORWARD EMAILS. HAVE TRIED YOUR SUGGESTION ON SEVERAL COMPUTERS WITHOUT A FAVOURABLE RESULT.
Totally fed up to the eyeballs with this Telstra Mail.
Unable to reply or forward any emails, whether or not they have attachments.
We are paying for a service that we are not receiving and the so called telstra staff do not care and do not want to resolve the problem.
The Telecommuncations Ombudsman will be next on my list, then, Telstra will be made to do someting to fix all our issues.

G'day AJ24, I tried your method using Chrome to log in through the Bigpond page, not once but a few times over the past 36 hours and get the same message every time > " An unrecognized error was returned from the mail system. Please try again later."
