Telstra Mail web interface problem: Not all settings can be configured on iPad/iPhone

There is a problem with the web interface of the new Telstra Mail.  Not all settings can be configured from an iPhone or iPad's web browser.

 

On a PC, when you click on settings, and then Mail, there is a drop down list of various subcategories.  However, on an iOS device's web browser, there is no drop down list, and instead, various subcategories are displayed on the right hand pane with the settings in each subcategory.  However not all subcategories are displayed, e.g. you cannot manage e-mail forwarding.Screenshot (29).png

Could you please fix this.  You should be able to use and configure Telstra Mail regardless of which browser you use or device you access it from.

 

I am using the Safari browser on iOS 10.1.1 on an iPad and iPhone.

I.ve been re-scheduled 4 times since October for migration to Telstra Mail on my 2nd email.Has anyone els had this problem.Its frustating trying to find ut why ???

I have noticed since the update of new Telstra mailbox I have not relieved any emails, I have sent myself test emails and nothing has come through?

Hello Brad

I had the same problem as you.  However found I was able to open Webmail when I used Microsoft Edge (which comes with Windows 10 so your employer may allow it) rather than Internet Explorer.

We are aware of an issue with customers viewing some PDF attachments in webmail where they get a transcode error.  While this issue is being addressed, we suggest customers manage their emails using an email program such as Outlook or Thunderbird.

Bigpond email

Last night our Bigpond email was working.  Today, Wednesday, it does not.  When attempting to get email on an iPad or iPhone we get...

 

CANNOT GET MAIL

The user name or password for Bigpond is incorrect

 OK           SETTINGS

 

On a laptop using Widows 10 we get a note coming up on a grey background, bottom right of screen saying...

 

"Your Bigpond account settings are out of date"

 

What has happenned here and how do I fix it?

 

g-mail still seems to be working.

I recently moved from the old Telstra system (using POP on Windows Mail) to the new service, and have changed to using IMAP. This meant that I had to change all my message rules (if from: SENDER, forward to OTHER_USER, etc).

 

Compared to the POP message rules, Telstra's servers are pretty terrible at identifying rules and senders.

 

From testing, it appears that the following applies:

 

1) Every rule must be individualised, there are no "OR" rules. i.e. must forward every rule seperately, filling them out one by one.

 

2) Telstra either considers the "from" to be the listed name (e.g. Fred Smith), or the return-path email, NOT the listed from email.

 

This means the following: if you currently use any sort of alias service (e.g. sending as test@hotmail.com via a gmail account), it won't pick up the email if you have test@hotmail.com

It also makes various other tasks more complex than they need to be, but I'd say the above issues are big enough to warrant some work.

transfer folders And contents of folders from Bigpond POP (outlook 2007) to Telstra mail (IMAP)

I have numerous folders filled with individual emails (under POP) which I need to keep with same structure. How can this efficiently being transferred to Telsta Mail_IMAP?

GOING OUT OF Mind with this ERROR 558

TELSTA DOES NOT CARE AT ALL  i called faults when I did get to someone talked for 1 hour the person could not really speak that well and had not idea THEN SAID

Every time I try to send an email in Telstra mail I get a pop up telling me that it is a spam error

It glitches out like that sometimes. Not good, but they are working on the reliability.

It has been glitching like that since the beginning. They have been working on the reliability.

 

Since it is a complimentary service (ie free for customers), the refund is going to be very small.

I have had the same experience as everyone else with this, except that it first started for me several months ago. I have spent many hours on the phone rep[eating the same info to different people, most of whom seem to have no idea this is even an existing problem, have no idea how to fix it, and try to insist that it is a fault on my end. It got to the point early one when one person refused to do anything else to help because she said it was working fine on her end. I only managed to get referred to someone else by getting very angry with her, and eventually got put on to someone who actually took it seriously and did actually seem to fix it twice for short periods. After the last "fix" it had been fine for a few weeks until last night. It used to be if I tried to send a couple of times eventually a message would send - now I can't send any messages at all. It makes no difference whether there are web links in the e-mail or any of the other stuff Telstra have been saying.

After the many hours already spent getting pushed around to different clueless consultants with poor English language skills I am very reluctant to get on the phone again and waste half a day when I could be getting some productive work done. I wish I could charge you, Telstra, for all the lost hours of work due to trying to get this fixed and having to argue with your consultants to get them to accept it is not just a problem with my computer, and that it is THEIR problem and THEIR responsibility to fix it so that I am actually getting to use the service I am paying for.

 I too have been unable to access webmail since you changed to Telstra mail. Repeated calls have no resolved this 403 issue, it looks like I'll have to use another email provider for overseas.

CAN'T LOG INTO WEBMAIL YET AGAIN..... COMES UP WITH FORBIDDEN ERROR 403.

I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE,THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR TELSTRA.

THIS IS CRAZY.     IF THEY CAN'T GET IT RIGHT THEY SHOULD JUST DUMP THE STUPID THING.

OUTLOOK 1OOO TIMES BETTER.    WISHED I'D NEVER CHANGED OVER FROM MY OLD PROVIDER
