Re: Messages being deleted from webmail
Hi MM3364,
The best way to keep messages on the server is by using the IMAP settings. You can find out how to set up your Telstra Mail account using IMAP settings here
Re: All email messages have disappeared!
I've already created a gmail and now starts the slow process of swapping everything over. Great tip to forward everything in the meantime. Thanks!
Possible Scam Email
Received 2 emails, both a couple of days before account was due. Both with Telstra logo in correct place on email. We were wondering if this is legit or a scam/phishing expedition. I checked our details as best I could and they are correct. Plus we paid our last month's account and it has been credited. hope you can help. Have waited for 1hour 41 minutes to talk to accounts department which has tied up our business phone. Can't afford to wait any longer hence I'm emailing our query.
Re: Is my Bipond email account IMAP? How do I tell?
Hi Chris_OC,
All BigPond email should now be migrated over to the Telstra Mail platform and should have the ability to use IMAP settings. You can find the details here along with instructions on how to set it up on different devices.
Since your dad has been using POP his old messages will only be stored on the local PST file on his PC. You should be able to keep the old POP setup in Outlook, so he can still access his old email, but you'll need to disable the send/receive function so it doesn't mess with the Mail Server and IMAP settings.
Re: Email move?
Re: Possible Scam Email
It is a scam. The email address is wrong, it is not addressed to the account holder directly and it has a clickable link asking you to update your details.

Re: How can I restore a bigpond email account when address is @bigpond.com and service is Outlook ??
Hi a131,
All BigPond inboxes should now be migrated over to the Telstra Mail Platform, so if you're needing to restore your email address please refer to the following articles which show you how:
Re: Not receiving bigpond email in Mac Mail
Hi Kenobi, hope you can help me with trying to access the email on the bigpond.com. Have just signed up to Telstra and am sorry I did, as it has been very frustrating to try and gain access to the email on my Apple mac. "cannot verify username and password is all that comes up; yet I can access emails on the iphone. Can send emails out OK. Bigpond have been trying to push me into paying more money to speak to an Apple Mac tecnician who will 'fix' the problem. An Apple tec man has already checked everything at my end and nothing is wrong with the computer. On 06 June I gave bigpond access to my computer and the Mac lady at bigpond set the incoming emails to 'pop.telstra.com' and everything immediately came into the account but the next day they stopped any incoming mail and 'suspended the account' with the words it had been comprimised.
Would you know where the fault lies? Thank you, Ningana
Re: Not receiving bigpond email in Mac Mail
Hi Ningana,
There are a few reasons why an email account would have been suspended. You can find out all about that and how to get it restored in the following link:
Re: Possible Scam Email

Accessing old emails
I am using Outlook 2016.
I can access old "Sent" emails.
I cannot access old "Inbox" emails prior to December 2016.
Seems odd that i can find old Sent emails but not old Inbox emails.
Any suggestions ?
Re: 2nd email address
Mac mail
I ahve jsut bought a new mac air and loaded all my software from back up,
i can recieve my bigpond emails so, why cant I send any?
Re: Accessing old emails
It depends on how you had your mail set up as one incorrect setting such as remove from mail server when deleting from inbox can cause this. Have you had a look through the webmail program to see what is still sitting on the mail server assuming you are talking about retrieving old messages from the Telstra mail server and not just looking for a lost .pst file on your own computer.
Re: Mac mail
Are you connect to Telstra when trying to send mail and not using a Wi-Fi connection that is non-Telstra? The link below has most of the mail setup procedures and might be worth looking over to make sure your settings are correct.

Re: Mac mail
The correct link for latest MAC is https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/set-up/set-up-telstra-mail-on-mac-osx-10.10-and-above
If you can not send emails check outgoing server settings are same as in link below.
