Re: Outgoing SMTP Mail Server settings
No joy ... refuses to verify imap.telstra.com when setting up this address. STILL have the problem that can receive but not send emails, has been around for several weeks now.
using iPad, with an old bigpond.net.au account that used to be on a POP server with in and out mail both from mail.bigpond.com. The incoming still works but not outgoing ... HELP?

Sorry to hear of the email bill issue.
Has our Billing team looked into resetting this for you? It may need to be changed to paper and then back to email to get a verification email to confirm.

Hey man can you reset my email account i need to get in it asap to get some info, I been on the phone for ages and no one answers. My email has been i dont know something anyway and i got to change me pass word. the email is <removed to secure your privacy>, I was also a staff member for 20 years out in the feild.

Re: Accessing old emails
The emails pre December 2016 were never deleted from my inbox.
I can access "sent" emails pre Dec 2016, but not pre Dec 2016 "inbox" emails.
I think it might be because i changed from POP to IMAP.
I have a feeling that i should have saved the emails before changing protocols - i was never made aware of this at the time.
If this is the case, is there a workaround whereby I can temporarily change to POP, access the old emails, then revert to IMAP?

You might still have a copy of the emails in the pst or ost data file for the account. The link below shows how to locate the data file.for different versions of outlook.
If the old data file still exists the emails could be imported by following instructions in link below.

Cant see why telstra can't let blocking Spam email from myself to myself, really who sends emails to themselves.
This would stop this spam straight away i would have thought.

My wife, also a Telstra email user, when sending from Telstra webmail on my PC, has my full account name inserted in front of her email address when displayed at the recipient. When Jupiter wrote "I just went in..." was this referring to the Profile name fields of the user (which does not fix the problem) or the Account name fields? I don't see why I should have to nominate her (incorrectly) as the account holder just to get rid of this problem. The full account name I would have thought should be confidential anyway, not sent out in each email. Why is her Profile name not used?

Webmail - mailbox size and space left
The old Webmail UI used to show in the lower left corner the mailbox size space available vs used. This seems to have disappeared in the new UI, or am I looking in the wrong place? where can i find that information, and if it's missing, any chance to see that put back again please?

To view the size and amount used in WEB Mail click on the settings icon top right then click on mail in the left hand settings column. The size and percentage used is displayed at bottom of page.

Email account is temporarily suspended while overseas
Hi,
My email account has been temporarily suspended due to being compromised, while I am overseas for an extended period. I have tried to get help from Telstra via their website to no avail. I cannot ring the Telstra number to reconnect my emails from overseas. I have tried to re-set my password but that has not worked. I need Telstra to contact me or some urgent help.

SteveVB - This is a field within webmail where you can choose the name that is displayed. When the mailbox is first created, it is the name on the account by default and is editable by the users. This does not adjust the name on the account, only what the "senders" display name is.

You would export the emails. Check the help file on your email program (you haven't specified which one you are using) on how to export the emails to a .pst file.

If you have deleted them from your device, then if you have set it to not delete them from the server you should be able to retrieve them using webmail.
If you have deleted them, then if they are not in the Trash folder, then they are gone for good.

unable to connect to bigpond outgoing mail server when overseas
I am running outlook 2007.
Email was working perfect at home and none of the settings have been changed.
I am now travelling overseas and when connected via wifi, I am unable to connect to the outgoing mail server.
I can receive emails normally but can not send.
This happened previously when I travelled overseas and it was not resolved because I was unable to contact Telstra from overseas by phone and thay don;t appear to have an online help service.
Can anyone assist?
