Hi,

 

I have my own domain with external, non-bigpond email services (moblit.net).

I'm trying to configure my email client (emClient) to send email message to my mail server, but I'm unable to get this working.

I can receive emails without any problems using the default POP3 settings.

I've had a look at the required settings on the ephost (domain / email host) website - https://www.ephost.com/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/40/5/email-settings-pop3--imap

I've tried setting my outgoing / SMTP server to the bigpond.com, telstra.com or other servers according to the following posts, but have had no luck:

Does anyone have any suggestions that may help?

 

I have very limitied options for configuring the SMTP server:

- Host

- port

- Security Policy (None, SSL/TLS if available, force SSL/TLS, Use SSL/TLS on special port)

- Server requires Authentication (yes/no)

  - use identity details

  - use specified credentials - user name / password

 

Any help / guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You need to use the SMTP servder that is associated with your email hosting account.  You cannot send mail for a non-Telstra email account through the Telstra SMTP servers.

If I was setting it up I would use the following settings for outgoing server.

 

SMTP server (Host) mail.ephost.com

port 465

Authentification Yes

Security Policy SSL/TLS

Use specified creditials.

User Name email@yourdomain.com

User password Your email password

That is assuming they are using the Windows based server plan. If the server is on the Linux plan, choosing the right server is dependant on which server they log in to or cPanel (there are 4 of them).

Trying to sync my bigpond email to my iphone so that the emails that come into the inbox are never deleted. At the moment they drop off after approx one month , very annoying, not the case with my icloud emails.

please help

Try this

 

If it is an IMAP account:

Go to Settings > Mail, contacts, calendars (iOS 9 and below) or mail(iOS 10) > Accounts > Your email acount

look for a "mail days to sync" setting and adjust to what you want

 

If it is a POP account: 

Go to Settings > Mail, contacts, calendars (iOS 9 and below) or mail(iOS 10) > Accounts > Your email acount > Advanced

look for a "Delete from server" option and adjust to what you want

 

If either of these settings are how you want them and they are still deleting after a month, it sounds like there is another device/program that has the account setup as POP that has the option to delete from server set to 1 month

Junk email on iphone

Hello Crowd Supporters.... I have an ipone 7 and email set up.  I use Micrsoft office on the computer and have "bigpond.net.au" email account.

I have selectively marked junk and spam on this sytem and also on Telstra's webmail, but the wretched junk emails keep coming through to the iphone.... I'm not exactly tech savy but can follow a decent set of clear instructions... can anyone point me in the right direction here.  thanks

Microsoft Outlook 2007

 

Up until today I have had no problems using bigpond on outlook 2007 set up as POP3.

Today it decided to no londer work and i successfully changed to the new settings.

 

The problem I have is that i have five bigpond accounts and four other accounts that i was able to direct incoming mail to a central location eg

Inbox >

    >email1

    >email2

    >email3

etc

when i deleted emails they all went to the same deleted folder and i was able to automatically delete on exit from outlook. I was also able to assigne different signatures to different email addresses.

 

now all the email accounts have their own seperate group of folders which i cannot combine

the delete emails stay in the inbox with a line crossed through them

the deleted items folder does not empty

i cannot assign signatures to email accounts

 

How do i fix this

I too have been receiving heaps of Spam mail over last 6 months. Normally I Block Sender but now over past two days I am receiving spam mail suppossedly fro me as well.  Cant block sender because it appears to be from me! Go figure. Help please

New email address in Webmail

Hi

I had to close my email mailbox due to being sick of spam emails from myself and no support whatsoever from Telstra.

I created a new mailbox as I believe you can have up to 14.

However after closing the old mailbox  I cannot now open Webmail from other PC's such as work.

The new email address is working fine on my home PC outlook and mobile phone.

There doesn't seem to be any choices as to which mailbox you view in webmail.

Has anybody got an answer?

To select new mailbox log into WEB mail using the address of new mailbox. Make sure you are not logged in to Teslstra WEB mail or Telstra My account using your old email address.

Thanks for responding.  The message said that my account had been compromised.  I don't see how this could have happened, at the time I received the email from Telstra/Bigpond I had been trying to open an attachment sent by the manager of an apartment where we are now staying.  I need to have my emails reinstated urgently as I have information in them with regard to our future travel (we are away for 3 months).  I look forward to hearing from you ASAP.

The settings I use at home have not changed.

Incoming server POP3 = 110.

Outgoing server 25.

Hi dogbone61, 

 

When you successfully changed to the new settings were these the IMAP settings (with the Incoming server address as imap.telstra.com) or the new POP settings (with the Incoming server address as pop.telstra.com)?

You'll probably find that whoever is providing the wifi has blocked or reserved port 25 for its own mailserver (Telstra does the same). This is why you cannot send mail when you're oversea's

 

You can probably get away with not changing the incoming settings (Though you are effectively receiving emails over open air and unencrypted), but you will have to adjust your outgoing settings

it was the IMAP settings.

could not get it to work when trying to manual on either IMAP or POP so did the auto setup
