outlook 2007 came out before IMAP was a big deal and while IMAP accounts will work on it and earlier version of outlook, it is not completely compatible. E.g the mark for deletion strikethrough instead of moving to deleted folder: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Purge-IMAP-items-marked-for-deletion-ac1c51da-31c1-435c-a357-96eb78ad684a
That being said IMAP accounts always create their own set of folders because they synchronise with the mail server, not just download unique copies of emails in the mail servers inbox to the mail program's inbox
Hi addyplus3,

Hi. I am unable to print my emails. I am instead getting a printed message headed up OWM Weptop - Error Report. HTTP Status 404 - /webmail etc. description The requested resource is not available". I am able to print as normal from other web pages. Does anyone have an answer, please?
Webmail isn't an app. It is accessed through a website. http://email.telstra.com
Or, on your phone, you use the Mail app that ais already installed and you add your Telstra Mail account to it.
See the instructions here https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/set-up/set-up-telstra-mail-on-your-device#iphone
Hi Jan27,
The block for these emails has only gone in today. You should stop receiving them.
Note there may be one or two sitting in queue somewhere that get through, so don't be too alarmed if you get one or two more.
But as of next week I'd expect these to stop completely.
Cheers.
I have been a loyal customer for almost 20 years and have never seen spam such as what I am seeing since the switch to IMAP. I have blocked emails, marked them as "spam", blocked domains, reported emails and am now at my wits end. These are totally unsolicited (sex sites, dating sites, male enhancement sites etc - too offensive to go into detail - along with the IGA, Aldi, Coles, Woolworths supposed giftcard offers). Some of the time they appear to be from my own email address and so I can do nothing except delete them. If Telstra doesn't do something about it, then I will have no option but to consider moving providers. I have done what I can from my side, but I don't want these turning up in my Webmail or anywhere else either. Unfortunately I have to wait for my bundle to expire in April, but am looking forward to the move. It seems I'm not the only customer reconsidering either. Funny - my gmail account costs an arm and a leg less, and no spam!
Is anyone else experiencing residual problems with their emails not synchronising properly?
Everything is now working fine on my Windows 10 PC and my W10 phone. However emails can take up to 3 days to appear on my iPad. The problem is intermittent, occurring about once a week. The rest of the time it's fine.
This synch problem is affecting both the Inbox and the Sent Items folder.
At first I was blaming the Outlook app which I installed on my iPad, and I have had Microsoft Support running round in circles trying to track the problem down. However I've now set this email account up in the standard iPad Mail app, and the problem is occurring there also.
It all seems to have started round about the time that Telstra fixed this problem with the missing emails, which is making me wonder whether it isn't completely fixed even now.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Any suggestions about how to fix it?
Tried to access my bigpond email account last Thursday and couldn't as it needed to be reactivated. Still waiting 8 days later for Telstra to do something. Every link I click sends me back to the same damn page and tells me nothing
When I go to read sent emails, only the first 1 and a 1/2 lines are displayed.
Have I managed to change a setting or something to cause this?
Cheers
GW22
Hi there,
I am having a similar problem, when entering my username, password and incoming and outgoing mail servers - I have a message come up saying:
"Password could not be sent to 'mail.bigpond.com' securely.
Internet accounts cannot send your password securely to the server. You can continue without a secured password, which could put your password at risk."
Could you please advise how to setup my bigpond email account securely.
I am running ios 10.12.5.
Please note I have tried setting up using mail.bigpond.com for incoming and outgoing and also tried imap.telstra.com for incoming and smtp.telstra.com for outgoing and I get the same response above for both.
Regards,
I agree with many on this forum. Since the switch to Telstra Mail, I have been inundated with obscene messages in my inbox. I have tried all the "solutions" mentioned here, to no avail. I want out immediately, but am locked in until April next year. Time to listen to your customers, Telstra, and do something about the spam. It wasn't there before, which means something within your power has changed. If there's a class action, I'm on board!
Commiserations - same problem . Ain't technology wonderful ? Been trying all day to fix it without much luck . Like you I can get other sites to print out OK . Tried sending one of my e-mails to an old Optus e-mail address that I still had current . It worked and I was able to print it out . However this particular document that should have taken about 1 1/2 - 2 double sided pages now took about 6 double sided pages to print it out . Not exactly economical considering the price of printer ink . Contacted Telstra whose only suggestion was to sign up for their Platinum Service contract . Told me it would be 50 cents per day (approx $15.00 per month ) for a minimum of 12 months . Said I'd think about it . Glad I did . Checked out the actual details and found it was $20.00 per month locked in for 2 years with the full balance of the $480.00 payable if you bailed out early . Sure hope someone has an answer to this .
Hi GW22,
Is this when checking your Webmail?
Do you get the same issues on different browsers?
Thanks for your support Fleming. I'll wait a week and let you know how it goes.
My problem has been ongoing for the past 12 months, I receive all the junk, spam emailsin my inbox but not the important ones like all my paperless bills and yes that includes my telstra bills.
I have read every conceivable solution checked all my settings, spent hours on the phone waiting to speak with someone and still without a solution, I am not receving all of my emails, and if I do it disappears within a day even if I haven't opened it.
My bills are not on the webmail server either, no searching finds them but have been assured by my billers that they emailed the invoices...........so Telstra what is the solution or should I take my business elswhere or maybe I should email the CEO for a solution??
Long story short, I need to reset JUST the secondary mailbox passwords, I have all my primary account information correct.
There is no 'forgot password' for secondary mailboxes.
Long version:
So I have the older bigpond.net.au account, but have created new mailboxes, which are bigpond.com
I have previously added them to outlook and they work alongside my main .net.au email. I still have them working on some machines and working on my phone.
Now I am adding these additional .com accounts to a new outlook, I cannot make it work.
I reset the primary account password and was told this resets all the mailbox accounts, which it doesnt appear to.
The .com accounts setup previously still function without a password change.
It's not a cache thing, it was a month ago.
So I believe I need to reset the passwords on the secondary mailbox accounts, however there is no way to do this if you dont recall the original secondary box password.
This is after I have logged into my primary account successfully, and yes I tried the primary account password.
